The Quebec Occupational Health and Safety Act (LRQ, c. S-2.1, r. 13) stipulates that all lifting devices must be inspected and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions or standards offering equivalent safety. Improper use or poor maintenance could compromise the health, safety or physical well-being of workers.

Pont Roulant Protech recommends that you meet the periodic inspection requirements set out in the Canadian standard CSA B167 - Overhead travelling cranes, gantry cranes, monorails, hoists and jib cranes. Below is a table extracted from the standard specifying the frequency of periodic inspections that must be carried out by a qualified inspector with 8,000 hours of experience in the maintenance, repair or manufacture of lifting equipment.
